An award-winning garden centre restaurant is celebrating the first anniversary of its bakery.

Lime Kiln Kitchen, the restaurant at Thetford Garden Centre, unveiled the facility last year.

It came as part of a major development of the centre completed in March 2025.

“It’s hard to believe it’s nearly been a year,” James Feur, senior catering and hospitality manager, said.

“We’ve hosted two Unlimited Cake & Pudding events, both of which were a huge success and very well supported

“Since opening the bakery, we’ve doubled the number of cakes we’re selling and have received some fantastic feedback from customers.”

Mr Feur added that despite the success of the bakery, there have been teething problems to adjust to.

“It hasn’t all been plain sailing and there have certainly been some growing pains along the way,” he explained.

“However, we’re continually adapting and refining what we do to ensure we keep improving and responding to what our customers are looking for.”

Lime Kiln Kitchen was named the country’s best garden centre eatery in 2025.
